My Quest, My Welcome

Welcome to my Quest!
I am a married, 27 year old mother of two...who desperately needs a piece of the pie for herself.  So I turn to personal reflection.  Like most other homemakers, I am absolutely devoted to serving my family (and absolutely happy in so doing), but former hobbies/interests didn't really coincide with that.  So I have begun to explore new horizons; and this exploration has brought me here.  I am on a quest to become a me-gan.  What is a me-gan?  It's a made up word, of course!  I want to learn to do as much on my own as possible...to rely not on commercial products/commercial services alone.  I want to become a do-it-yourselfer- a me-gan.  So I start this blog to both learn and instruct.  When I find new recipes or learn how to do household/family related things, I will post them so you can try them and let me know what you think.  Likewise, I would really love to learn more and more and more- so lend me your expertise!  If there is anything you enjoy making/doing on your own around the house or for the kids...post it in the comment section or email me.
This is my little piece of the pie.

  2. I just met this awesome chick that sews and crochets all of her girls clothes. She really inspired me to try it. I used to crochet, but it's been forever. I'm really looking forward to trying it.

  4. Sewing isn't something I have ever ventured into...with no excuses! Aaron has a machine and the know-how, I guess if you ask you shall receive!

  6. I canned for the first time this year. I was really intimidated, but it was much easier than I expected.

  7. I have been making jelly and fruit syrups for the past 4 years (since we moved to the country). This is something I have wonderful memories of doing with my grandmother. I also thought it would be much harder than it was, I look forward to it every year! Great idea Stephanie!

  8. I would love to learn to make jellies/syrups! I canned applesauce with my mom when I was a teen one year...but that was a looooooong time ago.

  9. jellies aren't too bad. Mostly just time consuming. I think this is great by the way. I was meaning to ask you to send me your info for making baby wipes and stuff like that. I am also promoting your blog on my blog and twitter, although few people read it.

  11. You could always get other people to write articles for you, especially sewing or send you ideas. Another blog I read (called She Seeks) does that.
