In the Kitchen

Easy/Cheap Dishwasher Detergent

Equal parts Borax and Baking Soda
White Distilled Vinegar (as rinse aid)

-Simply sift together borax and baking soda.  To use, simply add 3 tbsp. to where you typically add detergent in your washer.  Some washers may need a little less, some a little more depending upon efficiency.  Add white distilled vinegar in place of Jet Dry for a nice finish!  This is not only super cheap, but totally green!

Safe Surface Cleaner

Spray Bottle
1/2c. White Distilled Vinegar
7-10 drops Dishwasing Liquid
Water

-Pour vinegar in spray bottle.  Add water to fill.  Last, add dishwashing liquid and gently turn bottle upside down and back to mix.  (This reduces suds.)  This is a great, safe disinfectant cleanser- I use it on my kitchen counters/appliances, on my dining room table, to clean my kids toys...and more!

For Clogged Drains

1 cup Salt
1 cup Baking Soda
1 cup Vinegar

-Pour ingredients down drain.  Follow with about 2 quarts boiling water.
